Rainfest 2026 Is Happening – Spots Still Available for Local Art Classes

Published 1:30 am Thursday, April 16, 2026

It is Rainfest 2026 time, bringing a weekend full of creativity, community, and celebration of the arts on the west end, continuing a cherished community tradition that first began in 1991.

Hosted by the Rainforest Council for the Arts, Rainfest will take place April 17–19 at the Rainforest Arts Center, featuring a variety of hands-on art experiences, live entertainment, and local talent. The weekend kicks off Friday morning with a wire wrapping class with Willow Roundtree and a painting class with Carol Simons. Friday evening features free live music with Bread and Gravy and an acrobatic performance.

Saturday will feature a full schedule of art-focused workshops as well, with Phill Ward’s basket weaving, Christine Wasankari’s collage class, and Alice Ryans leather working workshop.

Kids’ karaoke from 3-5 pm.

Sunday is our fiber arts circle, where any and all fiber arts are welcome to bring a project to work on in a group setting.

While many activities are filling quickly, there are still a few open spots available in several classes. Community members are invited to sign up for:

– Wire Wrapping

– Leather Working

– Collage Painting

These classes offer a chance to learn new skills, connect with local artists, and create something meaningful to take home.

Rainfest continues to be a highlight event for Forks, celebrating creativity, connection, and the spirit of the Olympic Peninsula. Whether you’re an experienced artist or just looking to try something new, there is something for everyone.

To reserve a spot in one of the remaining classes or learn more about the full schedule of events, contact Heather Sky for more details, or show up the day of! (Participants encouraged to sign up ahead of time before spaces fill.)
