Karen Elaine Foster

Karen Elaine Foster, age 69, of Forks, WA, passed away on May 5, 2026, surrounded by loved ones.
She was born on June 29, 1956, to Charles and Phyllis Bacon and grew up in Longview, WA. She met her life partner, Lonnie Foster, while working at Harley’s Resort in La Push, WA. Karen and Lonnie owned a commercial fishing business together, where she served as administrator, bookkeeper, painter, and worked behind the scenes to operate a successful local business for over 20 years out of La Push.
She always took pride in supporting her family financially, but Karen was most proud of being a loving mother. While she lived simply and rarely splurged on gifts, she was always generous with her time and her home. She was an avid fantasy reader and took joy in small, intimate moments like puzzling the night away with close family and friends, playing Words with Friends 2, caring for numerous adopted pets through the years, and of course, cheering on the Seattle Seahawks.
For those who knew her well, and even the people she’d strike up conversations with at the grocery store or in line at the coffee shop (waiting for her 12-oz white mocha with whip and a straw), Karen had a straight-shooting authentic spirit that no one could ignore.
She lived tenaciously with the sharpest sense of humor and poured her love and kindness into her family. Karen is survived by her sons Josh (Lindsey) Sims and Rio Foster; daughter Emily Foster; sister Diana (Ken Jr.) Plampin; brothers Dale and Neal (Becky) Bacon; grandchildren Jasper, Laraine and Lilly Sims; numerous nieces and nephews; and kitties Quinn and Stevie Licks.
She is preceded in death by her husband Lonnie; mother Phyllis; father Charles; brother Daryl Bacon; and many beloved pets.
Never interested in being the center of attention, Karen asked that no services be held. Instead, if you would like to make a donation to the Friends of Forks Animals or your local animal shelter, Karen would be honored.
