The Tigers were ready for battle.
The Marlins were confident they could handle the Tigers.
It was “good game, Marlins and good game, Tigers” at the end of this June 4th evening before a large and excited crowd at the old ball game.
Tiger James Rathjen was packing up after the game. It was not known if he was being traded or maybe just heading home for dinner. Whichever, he certainly had a large packsack containing all the essentials that make for a big league all-star. Well, he hasn’t reached the big leagues yet, but maybe someday. Tune in next week for the coverage of the Rockets and Giants.
Many of the Tigers’ infielders were still searching for the ball while one youngster was ready to run to one of two bases, but not sure which, as no one was covering first or second. Meanwhile, a Marlin runner continued his route around the diamond. Just a small problem that will be corrected by the time these youngsters reach Little League, you see.

Here is more from Duncan Fields sports fans. Yes, there is. Why you could hear the tigers roaring from clear downtown at the Rainforest Arts Center while on your way to the baseball diamonds. The Tigers were to meet the powerful Marlins and you guessed it, yes, it all took place at Duncan Fields. And what a contest it was. Lots of hits and few outs make for a wild and exciting game played by these 5 and 6-year-old athletes. Once again, it was a T-Ball evening here in Forks. Here at Duncan Fields.
