This week in 2001, it was reported that Inez Halverson had been selected as the 4th of July parade Grand Marshal. It was announced that this was the 30th and final year for the Beaver Jack group to be in the 4th of July parade. Many photos from the past were shared (photos). In well-placed advertising a schedule of county road chip projects was posted above an ad for windshield repair/replacement. Lyle and Josie Whidden had taken the lead in a restoration project on the Tillicum Park Shay locomotive. A story was shared about the Alternative School’s science project of placing owl nesting boxes.

This week in 1976, Thomas Addition was holding an Open House, for not one house …but 19 newly built homes, with another seven starting construction soon. More fireworks were expected at the school board meeting over the fate of Principal Newbry.

This week in 1954, a two-pound 12-ounce baby girl was born at the Olympic Clinic. Newly acquired medical equipment …an Airlock and an Incubator had been used after her birth.

This week in 1940, Mic Dodge’s aunt Betty had been married. Four loggers, from Beaver Camp, had been injured in four separate accidents.

This week in 1939, it was reported that a guest at a cabin in La Push had fallen off the porch and broken her neck!
