Joseph Michael Franklin IV

Joseph Michael Franklin IV was born on July 29, 2005, in Seattle to Michael and Melanie Franklin. Joe was a sweet boy, but definitely not without a mischievous side. We easily forget that he had that streak because of the overwhelming love and respect for family, friends, and nature. Never bored, he was either hiking, fishing, skateboarding, listening to music, gaming, or spontaneously being silly. You could find him also hanging out with his friends at the gym, visiting family, or playing Battlefield with his buddies in Pensacola, North Carolina, and Forks (only 2 broken monitors and remotes due to Battlefield and Hallow knight silk song).

He was a smart, tenacious man when he decided to join the Navy. He did everything he could as fast as possible to get the ball rolling and get to boot camp. He graduated 2nd in his division and was excited about the adventures ahead at his first command in San Diego.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents. He is survived by his father, Michael Franklin of Marysville, and Mother, Melanie Donahue of Forks. His maternal grandparents, Michael and Judi Donahue of Beaver. Siblings Lucy, Mercy, Mollie, Doug, step-siblings (Elisa, Alex, and Amanda), and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A vigil will be held at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, 511 5th Avenue, starting with the Rosary at 6:30 p.m. on July 21. The memorial service will be held on July 22 at the Assembly of God, 81 Huckleberry Lane, at 11 a.m., followed by a burial service at Quillayute Prairie Cemetery. A time of gathering to celebrate his life will start at 1 p.m. at the Assembly of God gymnasium. His family is grateful for the kindness and support shown during this difficult time.
