Construction Activities and Upcoming Work
Last week, Interwest Construction, Inc. (ICI) continued construction of the Engineered Log Jams (ELJs) at milepost 4 of Upper Hoh Road. This involved starting to finish the slopes behind and between the ELJs as they prepare to build the last ELJ structure in this stretch. At Tower Creek, ICI placed the last concrete for the bridge, completing the approach slabs. ICI has also continued to excavate, backfill, and grade to establish the roadway alignment shift to the new bridge. ICI will install the bridge rail and waterproofing membrane prior to paving the bridge and roadway on Aug. 29.
