As our businesses continue to struggle with shortages, troubles getting merchandise as well as supplies and for many a lack of workers …we salute those who work …where would we be without you?

Labor Day, is a legal holiday celebrated on the first Monday in September in the United States, American Samoa, Guam, Puerto Rico, the Canal Zone, and the Virgin Islands. The very first Labor Day was held on a Tuesday, September 5, 1882, in New York City.

Canada also celebrates Labour Day on the same day.

What Labor Day Means

For most people, Labor Day means two things: a day off and a chance to say goodbye to the summer. But why is it called Labor Day? Labor Day is a day set aside to pay tribute to working men and women. It has been celebrated as a national holiday in the United States and Canada since 1894.

On Monday, Sept. 5 we will celebrate another Labor Day …many will have a day off …others will have to work …Happy Labor Day to all.
