August 5, 1946 – November 3, 2025

Leone Patrick Amsdill, known to everyone as Pat, passed away suddenly on Monday, November 3, 2025. He was 79 years old.

Pat was born in Jackson, Michigan, and was the eldest son of eleven children. His family moved to the Forks area when he was in grade school and homesteaded on the Hoh. Pat joined the United States Navy after graduating at the age of 17. He served from 1964 to 1970 during the Vietnam War.

After his discharge from the Navy, Pat returned to Forks, where he met his wife of 55 years, Sandra Louise Berry (Amsdill). Together, they bought 10 acres on the Bogachiel River, built a house, and raised their three children.

Pat worked at the Sol Duc Shake Mill for 22 years, until it closed down. His favorite pastimes were hunting, fishing, and shooting muzzle loaders. A Celebration of Life is being arranged and will be held at a later date.
