Bill Sperry reported to those present at the Forks Chamber of Commerce meeting last Wednesday that the Quileute Tribe was purchasing the 110 Business Park, with Nov. 27 being the closing date for the transaction.
Sperry has owned the former Rosmond Mill site since 2008 and has made extensive improvements to the former buildings that once housed milling operations. In the past few years the Roundhouse has become a popular spot for events and even funerals since a new roof and the sides were enclosed. Sperry reports that the tribe plans on holding its drum group in the Roundhouse as well as other tribal ceremonies.
During Sperry’s ownership other buildings on the 21 acre site were converted to storage units and an archery range.
Sperry also said that the tribe will retain the U-Haul business and propane sales and existing leases with current tenants will be honored.
The tribe also plans to use the facility to house its equipment away from the salt water air at LaPush.
Sperry said the sale of the facility brings him and his wife, Kitty, one step closer to retiring adding, “Maybe we’ll get to go to Arizona for a couple of weeks now.”
