The University of Washington’s Olympic Natural Resources Center invites the public to an “Evening Talks at ONRC,” at 6:30 p.m. May 9. The topic will be “The Olympic Experimental State Forest — Stakeholders’ Perspective.” The talk will be presented by Rachel Roberts, a graduate student of the Human Dimensions of Natural Resource Management Lab at the University of Washington’s School of Environmental and Forest Sciences.

One of the missions of ONRC is to “Create a neutral forum where diverse interests can be addressed and issues resolved”. Roberts’ presentation will discuss a University of Washington research study to find common ground among key stakeholders in management of the Olympic Experimental State Forest (OESF). The goal of the study is to conduct a program to better understand and inform the resolution of the dispute about how the OESF is managed and to outline significant areas of consensus and disagreement about how the forest should be managed going forward.

Evening Talks at ONRC is funded through the Rosmond Forestry Education Fund, an endowment that honors the contributions of Fred Rosmond and his family to forestry and the Forks community.
