The idea for The Wandering Princess started one evening when Emma-Grayce Tinker-Fleck was thinking of ideas to try to save Ruby, her 1974 Super Beetle that has multitudes of problems. This restoration was going to cost a bunch of dough but Ruby needed to be saved, she was like a family member.
Searching on Google, Emma-Grayce found an interview with a professional princess that lived in Kentucky.
This idea really appealed to her! Costumes, kids, fun, and acting, which was something she had done since kindergarten.
The Wandering Princess is now off and running.
Emma-Grayce currently has three princesses available for events; Princess Cinder, The Ice Queen and Princess Rose Red. An additional character also is in the works … but it is a secret. The Fairy Godmother also will be available soon and will be played by Emma-Grace’s mother, Cheri Tinker.
Emma-Grayce said the party character business is something that is really catching on especially in Japan and Europe. And as far as pricing goes, Emma-Grayce says her fees are on the cheaper side. She offers the first hour at $50 and each additional hour at $30 and a photo package.
So what do you get? You get the character, a bag of gifts and games, special songs and stories. Each character she portrays has a unique costume, voice, and make-up.
Emma-Grayce has several birthday parties under her belt now and is taking bookings on her website www.thewanderingprincess.net. She said she was a surprise at one birthday party, “When I walked through the door, they were so surprised, everyone hugged me.” But how did the boys at the party react?
“They seemed to like it, too, and they kept asking me if I wanted more cake.”
The Wandering Princess started out as a way to save Ruby and to bring fun and laughter to children along the way, but it could end up being so much more! And ole Ruby just might be hitting the road again, as soon as Emma-Grayce gets her drivers license.
