Veterans Day assembly, cemetery flags mark somber day

West End veterans from World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the Gulf War and the ongoing deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan were honored by students and staff from Forks public schools on Thursday, Nov. 10 at a special assembly held in the Forks High School’s Spartan Gym. 

On Friday, Nov. 11, Veterans Day, a veteran went out in the rain and placed American flags on the graves of veterans buried in the Forks Cemetery.
