West End 9-1-1 calls – Sept. 22-28

Sept. 22

Thirteen folks from Forks and Clallam Bay Sekiu enjoyed a sunny afternoon at the Cowan Heritage Area kitchen garden, at the Annual Potato Dig/Seed Swap. After a potato-digging orientation, eager diggers went to work, carefully excavating potatoes. The potatoes were then sorted. Most were Ozette potatoes. Many were saved for farm seed potatoes to plant next spring. Several diggers took home seed potatoes for their own home gardens. It was a fun and productive afternoon. Submitted photos
