It took a few tries and not every little logger made it into the group photo …but here they are! It was a great turnout on Sunday for the Little Logger Contest 2024. Almost 20 little loggers showed up in their best logging-duds some even with glitter and some brought their little chainsaws. One little logger required real logger Dad support and the little lady logger in pink overalls just had enough and nodded off. All little loggers got a bag of treats and a Little Logger Lottery drawing selected the winners (it is too hard to judge them). Thanks to Sully’s for the donation of ice cream cone certificates. More Heritage Days Activities

Hickory Shirt Heritage Days activities will continue this week and next, with the following activities:

The Fish N Brew has been around as a Hickory Shirt - Heritage Days event since 1997. After COVID and some regrouping, it is back! And back at the Roundhouse, one of the many places the event has been held over the past 27 years. This year the event will benefit the Pacific Coast Salmon Coalition; with music, auctions, food and of course fish and brews. Hop House early 1900s- The first settlers to the Forks Prairie did not come for logging. Hops were one of the main crops. Merrill Whittier was one of the first white settlers/farmers and is seen here standing next to the dog near the center of photo. Also in the photo and sitting on the left bottom is John Sutherland, believed to be one of the first white settlers to see Lake Sutherland (named after him) and Lake Crescent.
