Clallam Conservation District Proposes $5 Parcel Fee, Seeks Public Input

The Clallam Conservation District (CCD) is proposing a $5 annual parcel fee, authorized under RCW 89.08.405, to sustain and expand its conservation programs. The fee would help address increased service demands, rising costs, and unstable grant funding.

For over 66 years, CCD has offered free conservation support funded by grants. The proposed fee would help maintain essential programs including:

Farm planning, healthy soils, and land conservation

Water quality protection and pollution reduction

Habitat restoration, including thousands of native trees planted annually

A public hearing will be held on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, from 5–6:30 p.m. at the Red Lion Hotel Port Angeles Harbor, Juan de Fuca Room, 221 N. Lincoln St. A Zoom option will also be available (link at www.clallamcd.org).
