Accident blocks 101 for 6 hours

A truck vs. vehicle accident occurred about 4 p.m. Friday afternoon near milepost 197, five miles north of Forks.

Involved in the crash, a 2001 Nissan Xterra SUV driven by Alexander R. Maybury age 24 of Port Angeles. Maybury was transported by Ambulance to the Forks Community Hospital. The vehicle was totaled and impounded by West End Motors.

Zachary D. Addleman, age 32, of Port Angeles, was the driver of a 1987 Kenworth Truck which was pulling a trailer. Addleman was not injured. The truck and trailer were damaged but were driven from the scene.

According to Washington State Patrol Maybury’s vehicle was southbound in the northbound lane at MP197. The truck driven by Addleman was northbound in the northbound lane when Maybury struck the trailer in the northbound lane.

Maybury’s vehicle came to rest on the southbound shoulder and the truck came to rest in the southbound lane with the trailer resting on its side partially in the ditch.

The road was blocked for about 6 hours.

Both drivers were wearing seatbelts. Also according to WSP, DUI charges are pending on Maybury.
