Vandals on Tuesday night, Aug. 21 tagged a crane located on the Upper Hoh Road with anarchist, radical environmentalist-type graffiti. The crane is owned by A. Millican Crane Services Inc. and is being used on a salmon restoration project about 10 miles up the Upper Hoh Road. A report sent to the Forks Forum by the crane company said “End clear-cutting” was painted in red on the crane. “I am sure that they would be embarrassed to know that in their attempt to teach us a lesson for, what they assumed was clear-cutting, really all they did was delay a project that will be saving the salmon population,” a spokesperson for Millican said in the email.
