From Clallam County Sheriff’s Office
On December 7, 2025, at approximately 4:45 p.m., deputies responded to a report of a body floating in the Bogachiel River near the Leyendecker Boat Ramp. A fisherman who was taking his boat off the river called 911 to report a body caught in vegetation approximately 50 feet from the boat ramp.
Deputies responded along with officers from the Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife, La Push Police, La Push Fish & Game, Fire District 1 personnel, Fire District 6 personnel, and Forks Ambulance. The Fire District 1 Swift Water Rescue Team deployed personnel and a boat to recover the body.
The recovered body is consistent with the missing boater, 39-year-old Port Orchard resident Alfonso Graham. First responders located a fishing license and identification in the pockets of the deceased, bearing Mr. Graham’s name. The Clallam County Coroner responded and has notified the next of kin that the deceased is likely Mr. Graham, pending further forensic confirmation.
