Construction to improve safety kicks off at US 101 and Lower Hoh Road in Jefferson County

Expect single-lane closures through late April

Beginning this month, if the weather cooperates, U.S. Highway 101 travelers between Aberdeen and Forks should plan for construction to improve safety near the Lower Hoh Road.

Starting Monday, March 16, Barcott Construction, LLC crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation will begin building a westbound turn lane where drivers can decrease speeds from U.S. Highway 101 to Lower Hoh Road. Crews will also replace and relocate the illumination system closer to Lower Hoh Road for improved visibility.

Flaggers will alternate traffic during daytime construction activities. All work is weather dependent and subject to change.

The project is expected to wrap up in late April.
