Tuesday evening Forks Mayor Tim Fletcher presented to Forks Elks’ Lynne Barnes ER, and Chuck Jennings, Youth Activities, a Proclamation from the City declaring recognition of “Youth Week” from May 2 through May 8, 2021. The Forks Elks Lodge 2524 and all other Elks Lodges celebrate the activities and accomplishments of the youth of our communities.

As an aside, Forks Elks Lodge 2524 members have gathered and turned in to the Forks Outfitters’ one percent program $2,195 in the last year which has gone entirely to youth activities that are as diverse as our community.

These young men, pictured, call themselves the Quillayute Boys and while being homeschooled, are learning to volunteer at the Elks Lodge, learning skills to become productive, energetic citizens of the community of Forks. To earn enough money to buy themselves computers to learn coding, they procured, cut, stacked, and delivered over two cords of firewood. Aden, Mike, and Jake are learning to be self-reliant citizens thanks to their mentor Andy and the many people they learn from while doing their volunteering.

Once again to the youth of our community; We see you! We applaud you! We are so proud of you!
