The Student of the Month project is sponsored by Soroptimist International of the Olympic Rain Forest (SIORF) and the HULL Family Foundation. Students of the Month are chosen by their teachers and honored with their parents at school for consistently displaying respect and responsibility for their behavior and academic achievement and always making good choices. They are given a certificate, FJHS water bottle and a Barnes & Noble $25 Gift Card for their efforts.

Jack Delgado is a 7th grader whose proud parent is Alajiah Delgado. His favorite subjects in school are Social Studies, Math, and ELA, his favorite food is pancake sausage on a stick, and his favorite hobbies are juggling and playing basketball, baseball, and football.

His dream job is to become a police officer. Teachers report that Jack is friendly, kind, positive, thoughtful, and always willing to lend a helping hand to students, staff, and substitute teachers. He thinks of others first, always strives to reach a new personal goal, values the people around him, participates in discussions, and volunteers to help manage materials and lab supplies.

One teacher said, “Jack is one of the kindest students I have ever encountered and such a deserving student of the month. He consistently goes above and beyond to make sure those around him are valued and appreciated.” Another teacher said, “Jack’s kindness is contagious, and he leads in Leadership by making sure everyone is included. His work ethic and kind heart are appreciated by all.”

She is caring and thoughtful, and she consistently asks insightful questions, participates fearlessly in all class activities and discussions, catches up on all missing work when absent, and always turns in high-quality work.

One teacher said, “Raelee is one of the most inquisitive learners, and her bubbly personality is so welcoming; she lights up rooms and makes me smile on a daily basis.” Another teacher said, “I so appreciate Raelee’s smile and upbeat attitude. Guest teachers have consistently remarked on what a great help she is.” Another teacher said, “Raelee works so hard and isn’t afraid of advocating for herself. Her energy and spunky attitude are great to see every day.”
