8th Grade: Sofia Huling
Sofia Huling was chosen as FMS November Student of the Month for 8th grade. Sofia’s favorite food is ice cream. Her favorite subject in school is ELA and she says she enjoys the writing aspect of it. Her other favorites include; sleeping, eating, and cats. Mr. Feasel, Sofia’s CTE teacher said “Sofia is an incredibly motivated and engaged learner. Not only does she strive to succeed on classwork, but she also has a strong desire to understand the “why” or “how” behind the work as well. Her success in the classroom is built on the foundation of her great work ethic, as she always gives full effort on every assignment no matter how big or small the assignment might be. In addition to this she is a positive role model for other students. She is respectful and kind to all of her peers and teachers and always provides a positive influence in the classroom. Keep up the great work!” Her PE teacher, Mrs. Highfield said “Sofia is kind and helpful on a consistent basis. She jumps in to help anyone without being asked. Sofia tries her best at all tasks given.” Mr. Burton, her ELA teacher said “Sofia is an extremely conscientious student. She gets why she is here and works hard to understand everything about an assignment and turn in her best work. Whatever we may be doing in class, she always has a question about expectations or to check for her understanding . When she finishes work with any time left over, she is the first to help her classmates, giving help when appropriate and offering support at all times.” Sofia’s math teacher, Mrs. Rogers said “Sofia is a very hard working student who is very eager to learn. She is very polite and thoughtful and is always empathetic to those around her. She is very conscientious of her work and strives to do her very best. She is willing to help others when they are struggling with work.” Sofia’s band teacher, Mrs. Sanger-Rasmussen said “Sofia is a go-getter. Whatever obstacle is placed in front of her, she tackles with gusto. When she struggles she has no problem with asking for help and will continue to struggle through until it becomes easy for her. Sofia also emulates the school pillars of success.” Sofia would like to thank all of her teachers and most of all her mom, Dr. Sarah Huling, EdD for supporting her. Way to go, Sofia!
7th Grade: Tommy Sorensen
Tommy Sorensen was chosen as FMS November Student of the Month for 7th grade. Tommy’s favorite food is mac and cheese. Some of his other favorites include; the color green, math, fishing, and cats. Mrs. Gingrich, Tommy’s social studies teacher said “Tommy is an excellent role model and is always putting in extra effort. He is helpful to other students and is always exceeding expectations on his work.” His PE teacher, Mrs. Highfield said “Tommy always puts in his full efforts in any task given. He comes prepared to work. He is kind to all students and staff.” Mrs. Johanson, his ELA teacher added “Tommy is kind to all of his classmates and always offers a helping hand. He goes above and beyond with his work and holds himself to a high standard. He is a pleasure to have in class.” His math teacher, Dr. Whitehead, said, “Tommy is a model student. He is quiet and respectful to teachers and peers. He is also very willing to explain the work to his peers if they need help. He is a fun person and a joy to have in class.” Mrs. Huggins, the school counselor added “You can always count on Tommy to be following school-wide expectations. He is always kind and respectful to others and a positive example to all. He is a quiet leader and very deserving of student of the month.” Tommy would like to thank his parents and teachers for supporting him. Congratulations, Tommy!
6th Grade: Howard Hoskins
Howard Hoskins was chosen as FMS November Student of the Month for 6th grade. Howard’s favorites include; peach cobbler dessert, the color yellow, history class, dogs, playing soccer, football, and baseball, and playing soccer video games. Howard wants to be a professional athlete when he grows up. Howard’s social studies teacher, Mrs. Echeita said “Howard always has a pleasant and positive attitude. He cares deeply about completing his assignments and doing his best.” Mrs. Klebe, his ELA teacher said “Howard is a shining example of what it means to be Student of the Month. He has one of the best senses of humor—he knows how to make others smile while still staying respectful and positive. Howard is genuinely kind to everyone he interacts with and goes out of his way to make sure others feel included. He is consistently hardworking, always giving his best effort in class and pushing himself to improve. On top of that, he is quick to help classmates who are struggling and shows real leadership through his actions. Howard truly makes our classroom a better place every single day.” His PE teacher, Mrs. Highfield said “Howard is kind and polite. He always asks if he can help. He is excited to learn.” Miss Hunley, Howard’s math teacher said; “Howard is an exceptional student and an absolute pleasure to have in class. He consistently works hard, approaches every task with a positive attitude, and always has a smile on his face. In math, he gives his best effort every day and shows a strong willingness to learn and improve. Howard is also incredibly kind and supportive of his classmates. He willingly helps others when they are struggling and does so with patience and encouragement. His positivity, dedication, and genuine care for those around him make him a standout student and a wonderful member of our classroom community. Howard’s music and band teacher, Mrs. Sanger-Rasmussen added, “Howard is a wonderful student. He is very respectful and is always willing to learn. He pushes through all of his struggles and comes out as a smarter and stronger person and musician on the other side. Keep up the great work, Howard.” Howard would like to thank his mom, coach Keith Weekes, Tanner, and his family members for supporting him. Congratulations, Howard!
5th Grade: Braxton Romberg
Braxton Romberg was chosen as FMS November Student of the Month for 5th grade. Braxton’s favorites include; lobster, the color green, and playing with friends. Braxton’s social studies teacher said “Braxton is consistently polite and respectful. He is kind and courteous to others and is a friend to everyone. He remembers to raise his hand respectfully in class. He asks questions when he needs clarification on an assignment. He has a good knowledge of historical concepts and likes to keep me briefed on politics. Braxton is also very patriotic, greeting me with a salute most days. He is also interested in trade-school and is related to my favorite electrician- Ray. I enjoy having Braxton in class and he adds a lot of patriotism to the classroom.” His music teacher, Mrs. Murillo said “Braxton is very conscientious and eager to learn. He listens and follows instruction well.” Mrs. Highfield, his PE teacher said “Braxton is always smiling and brings positive energy to any classroom.” His ELA teacher, Ms. Lewis added “Braxton is a pleasure to have in class. He has a quirky sense of humor, and I really enjoy how he mimes the actions from our read aloud. He is always respectful, responsible, and helpful. For example, when I had to be out my substitute teacher named him as one of the most helpful students she’s ever had. I was not surprised by that statement. Braxton is well liked by his peers and the adults in the school. Braxton, congratulations on being Student of the Month.” Braxton would like to thank his family and teachers for supporting him. Way to go, Braxton!
