Hickory Shirt-Heritage Days is sponsored by the West End Business and Professional Association with help from many other entities joining in with their own activities. If you have a hickory shirt, wear it this week! Many events are free unless noted otherwise.

7:30 – 8:30 a.m. West End Business & Professional Association named the Pioneer Logger Award winner, Homer Kesterson.

10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Free admission to the Forks Timber Museum, spinning and knitting demos

Noon Senior Lunch Forks Congregational Church

Noon – 1 p.m. Forks Chamber meeting Mike Doherty, Candidate for Clallam County Commissioner District 3; Rain of Terror and Hickory Shirt Days updates at Blakeslee’s Bar and Grill

10 a.m. – 7 p.m. the Forks Library will offer an Art Case display

USCG Station Quillayute River Appreciation Day

10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Free Admission to the Timber Museum, demos continue

4 – 6 p.m. Friends of Forks Library Book Sale – Books $2 per bag at the Library-Art Case display continues during the day.

Noon – 4 p.m. Forever Twilight in Forks Collection is open at the RAC

4:30 – 7 p.m. 85th annual Harvest Dinner Congregational Church, Spartan Ave. The Menu is Roast Turkey, Stuffing, Mashed Potatoes/with Gravy; Sweet Potatoes, Baked Salmon, Variety of Salads, Apple and Pumpkin Pie, plus a variety of drinks. The Cost is $10 for adults, $6 for Seniors over 62 and children under 12, family pass $35. The proceeds from this dinner help out with the cost of the nonprofit groups that meet at the church.

7 p.m. Spartan football vs. Olympic of Bremerton, with a little help from the Elks Lodge, the cheerleaders will be giving out free T-shirts to increase Drug Awareness in our community. The Elks mascot Elroy will also be on hand!

7 – 11:45 p.m. Rain of Terror opens its doors at the Quillayute Hangar $10 per person

Saturday, Oct 13

9 a.m. – 2 p.m. Senior Parents Rummage Sale at the big shop next to Tillicum Park

10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Bogachiel Garden Club Fall Plant Sale, 631 5th Ave.

10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Free Admission Forks Timber Museum demos continue

10 a.m. – 5 p.m. and 7 – 9 p.m. Art Show and Sale at the RAC lobby downtown

Noon- 4 p.m. FTF Collection open at the RAC

10 a.m. – 6 p.m. FOFL Book Sale continues at the Library

1 – 4 p.m. 22nd Annual Fish and Brew at the RAC, bring fish or brew to enter, or sample smoked fish, brews, homemade root beer, apple cider, and other treats. Music to enjoy by Loose Gravel. Admission $5 suggested donation. Prizes! Sponsored by WEBPA.

7:30 – 10 p.m. Choker Setters Ball sponsored by Rainforest Council for the Arts. Dance instruction starts at 7 p.m. and the dance will begin at 7:30. Music will be provided by the Loose Gravel Band. Admission suggested donation $6, but everyone is welcome whether they have money or not. This is a family-friendly event.

Tuesday, Oct 16

Noon – West End Historical Society meeting, Forks Congregational Church, Tom Rosmond will present a program that includes video of high climber Hap Johnson. Everyone welcome.

6 p.m. League of Women Voters Candidate Forum at Peninsula College. Candidates for Judge District II Court and District 3 County Commissioner.

Each year former Forks resident and artist Jack Datisman creates a themed faux beer label for the annual Fish and Brew this year it salutes the Coast Guard. The current label and those from the past will be available for purchase at the Fish and Brew for $25.
