Kick-off the season of giving at the 18th Annual Cherish Our Children event at The Akalat, the gym in La Push, 2 Bay-Yak Loop, on Friday, Dec. 6, from 5 p.m. until approximately 8 p.m. (whenever the auction finishes!). There will be a live auction and an ongoing silent auction, as in past years. Dinner and dessert will be available for purchase. Funds raised are used to purchase Christmas gifts benefiting the youth of Forks and La Push. Donations will be accepted right up to the event date of Dec. 6 at the gym, but for earlier donations contact Emily Foster at 360-640-9600. Vendors pay a $25 fee. Saturday, Dec. 7
8 a.m.-10 p.m.: Customer Appreciation Day with many businesses offering Moonlight Madness sales all day!
8 a.m.-11 a.m.: Breakfast with Santa at Forks Congregational Church, 280 S. Spartan Ave. Adults $5, kids 12 and younger are $3. Photos with Santa are $5. The menu is biscuits and sausage gravy, scrambled eggs, link sausage, french toast, coffee, juice, hot chocolate, and Santa!
9:30 a.m.-4 p.m.: Forks VFW Auxiliary Bazaar
The annual VFW Bazaar will be held at the Post on Spartan Ave. on Saturday, Dec. 7 from 9:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. In addition to crafts, gifts and other great holiday items, stop in and have a bite to eat! Cinnamon Rolls in the morning and lunch prepared by a culinary chef! Tables are $20, call Janet at 360-640-1401 for more information.
1 p.m.: Santa Bucks Drawing at Forks Outfitters, 950 S. Forks Ave. Remember to ask for official WEBPA blue tickets when you shop this holiday season.
1 p.m.-4 p.m.: Soroptimist International of the Olympic Rain Forest (SIORF) Festival of Trees Open House at Rainforest Arts Center, 35 N. Forks Ave.
Soroptimist International of the Olympic Rain Forest proudly presents the 24th annual Festival of Trees with “A Caroling We Go”. Open house will take place at the Rainforest Art Center on Saturday, Dec. 7 from 1-4 p.m. and during “Moonlight Madness” from 6:30-8:30 p.m. On Sunday, Dec. 8, doors open at 1 p.m. followed by the live auction at 2 p.m. A specially decorated tree and several baskets created by SIORF members will be raffled during the auction. The Festival of Trees is the main fundraiser for SIORF. Money raised at this event supports our scholarships, awards, Jr. High Student of the Month, Mammogram Fund, SOS Cancer transportation fund and Backpack program just to name a few.
3 p.m.-5 p.m. and 6 p.m.-8 p.m.: Book Signings Forks Outfitters and Chinook Pharmacy
Brenda Carlsen and Pam Fries will be selling and signing their Children’s Books on Dec. 7, both at Forks Outfitters and Chinook Pharmacy.
Brenda will be signing her book, “Wascana’s Amazing Journey,” from 3-5 p.m. at Outfitters and Chinook Pharmacy from 6-8 p.m.
Pam will be signing her book, “Something is Eating the Garden,” from 3-5 p.m. at Chinook Pharmacy and Forks Outfitters from 6-8 p.m.
6:30 p.m.: 18th-annual Twinkle Light Holiday Parade along Forks Avenue from C Street to Sol Duc Way.
6:45 p.m.: Tree Lighting Ceremony at the Triangle on Sol Duc Way.
After the parade, Santa will be on hand to push the plunger and light the lights on the town Christmas tree.
6:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m.: SIORF Festival of Trees Open House at Rainforest Arts Center, 35 N. Forks Ave.

Sunday, Dec. 8
1 p.m.: Soroptimist of the Olympic Rainforest 24th-annual Festival of Trees Auction at the Rainforest Arts Center, 35 N. Forks Ave. Doors open at 1 p.m., and the auction starts at 2 p.m.
Win a $1,000 Shopping Spree
During this Holiday Season, members of West End Business and Professional Association will be selling chances to win a $1,000 Shopping Spree. Tickets are $1 each and available from WEBPA members, the Forks Outfitters Service Center, the Forks Forum and during the Saturday drawings at 1 p.m. outside Forks Outfitters.
The winner will be drawn at the last Santa Bucks Drawing on Dec. 21 at 1 p.m.
Winner need not be present to win the Shopping Spree.
Funds raised from Shopping Spree ticket sales go to help maintain the downtown Christmas decorations.
