Local candidate Filing Week May 17-21

The five-day candidate filing period for our local elected offices is underway. You can file in-person, over the phone or through email communications.

Clallam County residents that wish to file for office should first review the “Elections Guide for Jurisdictions and Candidates” available on our website. This guide has all the important dates, contact information, and rules for local candidates and ballot measures.

Candidate filing will be open for five days from May 17-21. It is encouraged that candidates file as early as possible to avoid technical or processing issues. The Elections staff can help, but they cannot accept or process late and/or incomplete filings. The best way to file for office is online. If needed, the Election staff is available to assist with online filing with the in-office kiosks. Candidates can also file by paper, through the mail or drop them in our drive-up drop box at the courthouse.

Candidate filing fees must be received by the Auditor’s Office no later than 4:30 p.m. Friday, May 21 to complete the filing process. Candidates that file online can pay with a credit card; the Auditor’s Office accepts payment by cash or check only.
