As in the past, the Forks American Legion Post 106 organized the community Memorial Day Ceremony at the Forks Cemetery. The event honored those local and elsewhere lost while in service to our country. Flags had been placed at the cemetery on all veteran graves.

Pastor Stephen Owen from the Forks Assembly of God Church offered the invocation and closing prayer. American Legion Third District Commander Bob Theal traveled from Kitsap County to provide the day’s message.

Meaghan Rasmussen played TAPS and local American Legion veterans gave the twenty-one gun salute.
