New flower boxes for downtown businesses

As part of a recent city beautification project, the aging flower boxes are being replaced, complementing the newly added hanging baskets. Several local businesses have already received the updated boxes, which were crafted at Olympic Corrections Center. Mayor Fletcher had envisioned incorporating tribal art into the project and was introduced to the artwork of Eli Afterbuffalo, a senior at the Quileute Tribal School. Eli submitted his designs, which were recreated by the OCC woodshop and now appear on the front of each flower box.

Pictured are the newly planted boxes in front of Chinook Pharmacy, with Eli Afterbuffalo on the left and Mayor Fletcher on the right.
