The New Old Time Chautauqua and Washington State Parks are joining forces for the summer of 2016. NOTC will be visiting seven Washington state parks from July 15-Aug. 6, with a stop at Bogachiel State Park in late July.

Last week members of the Rainforest Council for the Arts met with Paul Magid, founding member of The Flying Karamazov Brothers and the New Old Time Chautauqua, and Kristin Crowley, a clown with the Chautauqua and organizer with the group to start planning the fun!

The NOTC has been to Forks twice before and they are looking forward to appearing again.

This time though the NOTC is on a mission to reconnect communities with their local state parks via NOTC’s summer program. The only traveling or circuit Chautauqua in America, NOTC is an all volunteer not-for-profit organization with a mission to promote community through education, entertainment and laughter. NOTC offers a two-day program that consists of free community shows, a potluck at the state park, a parade through town, over 30 free workshops from learning to juggle to folding a fitted sheet.

The event will culminate in an evening extravaganza featuring the 60-member intergenerational troupe and internationally known acts such as the Flying Karamazov Brothers, New York musical actress Amy Englehart, magician Joey Pipia, and more.

The state’s parks are in trouble and NOTC is hoping to help through this tour … stay tuned for more details.
