November Students of the Month

Elver Cruz Ramos is a 7th grader whose proud parents are Juliana Ramos Cruz and Raymundo Pablo Ortiz. His favorite subject in school is Math, his favorite food is pizza, and his favorite activities outside of school are playing with his brother and sleeping. His dream job is to become a policeman, and his goal this year is to get good grades. Staff report Elver is responsible, hardworking, and always willing to learn and improve skills. He has a great work ethic and is always focused, on task, and ready to learn. One teacher said, “Elver is a hardworking student and devoted friend; he is attentive, helpful, and respectful. He follows directions well, listens intently in class, and works hard to produce quality work at every assignment.” Another teacher said, “Elver is a wonderfully respectful and soft-spoken gentleman. He makes sure his work is always something he is proud of before he turns it in, asks excellent questions, and helps other students. He is always cheerful and greets me with a smile and hello.” Congratulations on winning Student of the Month, Elver!

Aliya Gillett is a 7th grader whose proud parents are Tracy and Craig Gillett. Her favorite subjects in school are Math and Band, her favorite food is a yogurt smoothie, and her favorite hobbies are singing, drawing, and playing musical instruments. Her dream job is to become a professional musician, and her goal this year is to get a perfect 4.0. Teachers at Forks Junior High report that Aliya is responsible, great about making up missed work from an absence, positive about academics, and always enthusiastic to help others. One teacher said, “Aliya is careful and thoughtful, really pushing herself to own the learning process. She volunteers great ideas in class, and she adds depth to all discussions. Her positive attitude is a wonderful influence in class.” Another teacher said, “Aliya is the type of person motivated to improve herself each and every day; she keeps working until she gets everything correct and to the best of her ability. She pushes herself to go over and beyond expectations.” Congratulations on winning Student of the Month, Aliya!

Nate Dahlgren is an 8th grader whose proud parents are Shannon and Chad Dahlgren. His favorite subjects in school are P.E. and Math, his favorite food is Prime Rib, and his favorite activities are hunting, fishing, football, and wrestling. His goal this year is to get a 4.0 every quarter this year, and his dream job is to become an Apache pilot. One teacher said, “Regardless of the assignment, I know Nate is going to do his best and turn in quality work. Plus, he has the capability of bringing his team members to his level of work ethic, instead of just doing the work himself. He is the type of student you hope to have in class.” Another teacher said, “Nate is a very responsible and respectful young man. He has a great work ethic; you never have to worry about him missing work from absences. I am honored to be his teacher, not just because he is so advanced, but because he’s such a nice, gracious person. He’s the kind of learner who inspires me, other teachers, and his peers to be better learners. The world needs more Nates.” Congratulations on winning Student of the Month, Nate!

Riyan Goetze is an 8th grader whose proud parents are Jaymi and Philip Goetze. Her favorite pastimes are reading and playing video games, and her favorite food is tacos. Her goal this year is to ace Algebra, and her dream job is to become a Math teacher or children’s attorney. One teacher said, “Riyan sets herself apart by always doing that little bit more, or taking a slightly different approach to assignments and problems. She’s a great member of any team, enthusiastic about working hard and always willing to help others. She is cheerful, her smile is contagious, and I really appreciate her presence as a student, especially when I am having a hard day. She is a model of positive attitude and kindness, and I am really enjoying getting to know her this year.” Another teacher said, “I love how Riyan can be so determined and headstrong about doing the right thing in class, and still manage to be fun. She has been a great student to work with these past three years.” Congratulations on winning Student of the Month, Riyan!
