OCC annual Awards

Olympic Corrections Center Superintendent Scott Speer welcomed staff and guests to the annual OCC Awards and Lunch at the facility last Thursday. Speer called the ceremony a well deserved acknowledgment of the invaluable role each person plays to operate a safe and humane correctional facility. “The sacrifices you make, the risks you take, and the care you provide shape lives and strengthen our communities,” Speer said.

Greg Banner was awarded a plaque, clock and pin in recognition of his upcoming retirement. Banner has over three decades at the facilty and shared he loved coming to work every day. Speer thanked him for his many talents as Plant Manager and keeping things running smoothly. He also commented on his impact on staff as well as his mentoring of the incarcerated, teaching skill that have bettered their lives.
