Play games at your NOLS branch

The North Olympic Library System (NOLS) is hosting several game programs for community members to gather and share fun times. All events are free and games are provided; Participants are also welcome to bring their favorite games.

Library Lawn Games, Sequim Branch Library

Every Wednesday in September from 4:30-6pm, bring your family and friends – and meet new friends – playing lawn games at this all-ages event in the field behind the Sequim Branch Library.

It’s All Fun and Games, Port Angeles Main Library

Beginning Sept. 9, It’s All Fun and Games is a new series for ages 15 and up that is held from 10am-12pm on the second Saturday of every month* through March. You’ll have access to jigsaw puzzles in a variety of sizes (up to 1,000 pieces), as well as board games and card games. Come by yourself, start an impromptu puzzle race, or bring a friend and your favorite game to teach others. *Due to the Veterans Day holiday closure, November’s event will take place on Friday, November 10, 5-7 pm.

Game Lounge, Clallam Bay and Forks Branch Libraries

Drop in for the monthly all-ages Game Lounge at West End libraries. Bring your own games or play board games, card games, puzzles, and more from the Library’s collection. In Forks, Game Lounge begins on Oct. 6, from 3:30-5pm, and repeats on the first Friday of every month through March. In Clallam Bay, Game Lounge begins Oct. 12, from 3-5pm, and repeats on the second Thursday of every month from October-November and January-April. Extended program hours from 10:30am-5pm are offered during Spring Break on Tuesday, April 2, in Clallam Bay and on Friday, April 5, in Forks.

Two game programs in Port Angeles and Sequim are designed just for teens.

Teen Tuesdays: Game Club, Port Angeles Main Library

As part of the new weekly afterschool Teen Tuesdays series at the Port Angeles Main Library, every first and fifth Tuesday of the month through December is dedicated to Game Club. Beginning Sept. 5 from 3:30-4:30pm, teens in grades 7-12 are invited to play board games and card games from the Library’s collection or bring their own.

Teen Board Game and Art Night, Sequim Branch Library

Beginning Sept. 8 from 6-7:30 pm, and repeating on the second Friday of every month through December, teens in grades 7-12 can come to Teen Board Game and Art Night at the Sequim Branch Library. Enjoy board games, art activities, and free pizza at this special after-hours event.
