Sarge’s Place to hold WWII dance fundraiser

Set for late October at Roundhouse

The North Olympic Regional Veteran’s Housing Network (NORVHN), a non-profit agency serving all of Clallam and Jefferson Counties is holding a fundraiser for Sarge’s Place, a transitional housing project for Veterans located in Forks, Washington. The fundraiser will be a USO 1940s-themed party featuring live music, desserts, classic cars & military vehicles, ladies in vintage pin-up clothing, and a live art auction.

The family friendly event will be held on Saturday evening, Oct. 27 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Roundhouse at 110 Industrial Park on LaPush Road.  Admission is by donation.

In addition to the fundraiser, there will be an unveiling of the small miniature version of the Jason Hanson statue.  This clay Marquette will demonstrate the pose of LCpl Jason Hanson as a life size bronze.  This will be the first time that this miniature will be shown to the public and the artist Jeff Oen will be onsite to discuss the process of creating the bronze. Jason Hanson was born and raised in Forks and was killed in action in Iraq in 2006.

If you would like to make a donation for this fundraiser, or would like to donate an original piece of artwork for the auction, please contact Cheri Fleck at 374-5252 or cherifleck@gmail.com.
