Step into a holiday fairytale at “A Storybook Christmas,” the annual Festival of Trees hosted by Soroptimist International of the Olympic Rain Forest. The magic begins with an open house Saturday, Dec. 6, from 1–4 p.m. at the Rainforest Arts Center, and again in the evening immediately following the Twinkle Light Holiday Parade.
Stroll through a forest of beautifully decorated trees, cast your vote for your favorite, savor homemade holiday treats, enjoy live entertainment and story time, bid on festive wreaths in the silent auction, and soak up the Christmas spirit with family and friends.
The excitement continues Sunday, Dec. 7, when doors open at 1 p.m. and the live auction begins at 2 p.m. Fifteen stunningly decorated trees and 27 one-of-a-kind wreaths will go to the highest bidders. Tickets will also be available for five themed gift baskets and a specially decorated artificial tree created by SIORF and the Olympic Correction Center, complete with two cords of firewood and additional surprises.
The Festival of Trees is SIORF’s primary fundraiser, with proceeds supporting scholarships, community awards, Forks Middle School Students of the Month, the Mammogram Fund, SOS Cancer Transportation Fund, comfort kits, and the Backpack Program, just to name a few.
