Upcoming Work

Last week, Interwest Construction, Inc. (ICI) completed construction of the 14 Engineered Log Jams (ELJs) at MP 4, leaving the remaining 8 ELJs at MP 3.5 to be constructed next year.

Last Monday, ICI paved the asphalt for the roadway and new bridge at Tower Creek MP 7.8, and last Friday, ICI removed the remaining portion of the old Tower Creek bridge.

This week, ICI will begin the in water work under the new bridge, which includes excavating and shaping the stream banks, placing riprap for scour protection, and reconstructing the stream channel.

ICI will also work to restore the MP 4 ELJ construction zone to prepare for the removal of the temporary traffic control signals.

Impacts to Traffic

• Travelers can expect Temporary Traffic Control Flaggers and/orsignals at MP 4 of Upper Hoh Rd for ELJ site cleanup and at MP7.8 for the Tower Creek Bridge stream channel work

• Expect delays up to a total of 30 minutes per passage through theproject corridor Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

• Olympic National Park and businesses along Upper Hoh Road will remain accessible at all times during construction.
