Upper Hoh Road Construction Phase 2 to begin

Construction Activities and Upcoming Work

This week, Interwest Construction Inc. (ICI) will resume work on the Upper Hoh Road project. This year, ICI will be replacing the bridge at Tower Creek at MP 7.8 on Upper Hoh Road. This will include demolition of the existing bridge and the restoration of the streambed underneath the new bridge. In July, ICI will also continue constructing the Engineered Log Jams (ELJs), resuming where they left off at approximately MP 4.25 and working toward the furthest downriver ELJs at MP 3.7, near the Willoughby Creek Campground.

This week, work will consist of setting up temporary traffic control signage and clearing of the trees at these locations in preparation for this work in the coming months.

Impacts to Traffic

• Beginning March 14 expect Temporary Traffic Control Flaggers at locations between MP 3 and MP 8 of Upper Hoh Rd

• Travelers should expect delays up to a total of 30 minutes per passage through the project corridor Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. -5 p.m.

• Olympic National Park and businesses along Upper Hoh Road will remain accessible at all times during construction.
