Deborah Perkins

Our beloved Deborah “Debbie” (Moser) Perkins was called home to the Promised Land on September 4, 2022. Debbie was born on May 1, 1954, to James and Dorothy (Tiensvold) Moser in Rushville, NE. She was the middle child of their five children. It was shortly after Debbie was born that the family moved to Oregon. She graduated from Thurston High school in 1972.

She met the love of her life, Charles Perkins, and married him on July 1, 1972, in Springfield, OR. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in July! She was so proud of this accomplishment. They had 2 children, Josh and Jolene, and moved up to Forks, WA in 1977 shortly after Jolene was born. Her husband Charles found an article in a newspaper that Forks was a logging capital, and this is what brought them up here. She wasn’t sure she would last long in Forks due to its remote location, but they never left, and Forks soon became their home.

She was a homemaker for many years when the kids were young. For a short period of time, she was a waitress and worked at Forks Outfitters. She was a para-educator at Quillayute Valley School District for many years and had very fond memories of the many students and staff she worked with and loved. Her final career path was being a pharmacy technician first at Chinook Pharmacy and then at Forks Community hospital where she retired in 2016.

She was very active in her faith at St. Anne church. She was so giving and selfless and touched so many lives!

Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, sister in laws Lexi and Patty, and nephews David and Patrick. She is survived by her husband Charles, son Josh (Amy), daughter Jolene (Danny), her grandkids Samantha, Nicole, Tanner, Kayla, and Zaiden, her siblings, and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be Saturday, October 1, 2022, at 11 a.m., at St. Anne Catholic church in Forks. Reception to follow at the church hall.
