Kyle Kettel was born on August 8, 1958, in Port Angeles, WA, and passed away on June 23, 2025. His life journey began in Port Angeles, transitioned to Forks, where he relished his childhood, and ultimately led him to settle in Poulsbo, WA. A proud graduate of Forks High School Class of ‘76 and Washington State University Class of ‘81(GO COUGS!). Upon graduating from WSU, Kyle worked at Allen Logging in Forks, Rayonier Mill in Port Angeles then moved to Poulsbo where he worked at ADA Engineering and finally retired in 2022 as a Principal at Team 4 Engineering.
Kyle was a man of many passions. His love for the great outdoors, cultivated during his youth in Forks, was reflected in his fondness for fishing and hunting. A lifelong fan of sports, rock and roll, and craft beers, especially a cold IPA, Kyle was always eager to explore new breweries and attend concerts (which he was always up front if he could be!), often accompanied by his cherished wife, Tammy, whom he married on August 11, 1990. Kyle’s spirited nature and zest for life were contagious, bringing joy and excitement to every gathering even though he could be a loving curmudgeon at times! His loyalty was unwavering, as demonstrated by the life-long friendships he maintained with a core group of friends from his school days.
Kyle is survived by his beloved wife, Tammy; mother Yvonne Freeman (Dennis); his brother, Kevin (Traci); his brothers-in-law: Jerry Morgan, Tim Morgan, and Tom Morgan; step sisters Suzanne Wagner and Kristi Cohen; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Kettel; his grandparents, Fritz and Millie Kettel, Leonard Newell and Maurine Kirby and his sisters-in-law, Jackie Olsen and Cindi Morgan, along with several aunts and uncles.
