Roberta Helen Vaughan

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Roberta Helen Vaughan in Silverdale, WA. Roberta Helen Vaughan was born on 1980-07-29 in Forks, WA. She was a Publicist for adventure gaming and music companies, and was passionate about her beloved family, her special friends, and her “found” family in the online safe community that she created, Classic Gamers Guild.

Her kind and loving soul showed the love of Jesus to all whom she met. This led her to create on online safe community for those who enjoyed adventure games, art, music, and writing. Her hobbies included movies and adventure gaming with her dad and brother and cooking with her dad and traveling to spend time with her special friends. She authored a family cookbook that she used often, including making and shipping Christmas candy and cookies to family and friends using her Grandma Joyce’s recipes.

She attended Forks schools, graduating from Forks High School in 1998. She graduated from the University of Washington with a B.A. degree in Cinema and a minor in Danish studies, completing her degree at the University of Copenhagen in Denmark. She earned a M.A. degree from the University of San Francisco after her marriage. Her first job was an assistant publicist to McFadden and McFadden in Santa Barbara, California, working for the Santa Barbara Film Festival and Santa Barbara Dance Alliance, as well as promoting various entertainment industry non-profits

She is survived by father Allen Vaughan, mother Patty Vaughan, brother James Vaughan, aunts and uncles Steve and Diana Vaughan, David Parrish, and Dave and Marguerite Henry, and nine beloved cousins, God Sisters Maya Trettevik Head and Kayci Trettevik, special friends Nalani Brisco, Marina Turner, Heather Fryling, Carla Guzzardo, and Anna Vigue, and adopted ”found” family members of Classic Gamers Guild.

She was preceded in death by Grandparents: John and Marguerite Fergason, Charles and Joyce Vaughan, and Great-grandma Helen Meador, and brother John Charles Vaughan.

A celebration of Life service will be held Oct. 4 at 11 a.m., at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Forks, WA. A Roberta Vaughan Celebration of Life Concert will be held Oct. 19 after the Portland Retro Gaming Expo.

She loved flowers but please consider instead a donation to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, where she attended pre-school and was a life-long member.
