Wayne Clarence King

March 2, 1936 – February 24, 2021

Wayne King died peacefully at home with family surrounding him.

Born in Lyons, Nebraska, he and his family moved to Forks, WA when Wayne was in the fifth grade. After graduating from High School in 1954, he volunteered for the draft and spent two years in Germany. When he returned home he worked for a few logging companies and eventually took a job with Clallam County PUD, where he was nicknamed “Chief.”

He worked for the PUD until his retirement at age 55.

After Wayne retired he volunteered in his wife Rosetta’s classroom, Forks Elementary School, tutoring kids in math and spelling for the next five years.

Wayne and Rosetta moved to Port Angeles, WA where he enjoyed gardening, canning, smoking fish, and ‘Playing the Ponies’ at the Casino.

He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Rosetta King; son Kevin King, daughters Karen King, Karla Warren, and Kacy (Tom) Larkin all of Forks, WA; 4 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, and his dog Bubba.

He is preceded in death by his parents Ernest and Helen King of Forks, WA, sister Beverly Staunton of Sequim, WA, and grandson Corey Gale of Forks, WA.

There will be no services at his request. He was cremated with the Neptune Society, Kent, WA.
