Dear Editor,

This is a compassionate plea to married women in the community, it could be any community.

I am a widow. That’s not a choice I made. I miss my husband more than I can tell you. Hear me, “I do not want your husband.” I think I may speak for others who live a lonely life without the mate they love.

Please don’t assume that because we talk, or even smile at them, we are trying to lure them away. Sometimes we just miss the conversation and viewpoint of the opposite sex.

I had the love of my life, all I have now are the memories. I can live with that.

I am not your enemy nor a threat. I’d like to be a friend.
