King George III never owned slaves. In fact, he supported legislation that ended the slave tradae in England in 1807. Conversely, 41 of the signers of the Declaration of Independence did own slaves. (“The Smithsonian,” Nov. 2021)

Danish architects’ organization Master Planet predicted that the world’s population would reach about 10 billion by 2050: Mumbai (42.4 million): New Delhi (38.2 million); Tokyo (32.1 million); Lagos (31.6 million); New York (24.8 million); and Mexico City (24.3 million>) (TIME, 10/2-9, 20)

I seem to encounter a new idiom about every day. I have on hand now about 2,860, minus duplicates,

About 90 percent of the Central Pacific Railroad workers were Chinese. They were housed in a series of temporary camps, the largest of which was the Summit camp located near present-day Truckee, CA. These camps have been placed on the list of endangered places because of vandalism and graffiti. (“Wild West” Oct., 21)

A so-called friendship that places politics or religion on a higher scale is not a genuine but only a flimsy relationship.
