Red Sox runner Lilly Norris headed home from third, not for dinner mind you, but to score of course as a teammate connected for a hard-hit line drive to the infield.

It was a very entertaining evening on the grass of Duncan Field in Forks on Friday the 18th of June as these 4 to 6-year-old’s showed their skills in hitting, running, and fielding. No, there were no strikeouts recorded nor were there any hits or errors listed on the scoreboard.

In fact, there were no scoreboards and no runs were recorded as the six T Ball teams competed in front of large crowds of parents, grandparents, and various other friends and relatives.

I saw no TV cameras or radio announcers but what an evening it was for these future Spartans. And no there were no nose-to-nose arguments between coaches and umpires, in fact, I don’t think umpires even existed. Maybe they did but it would be hard to distinguish coaches from umpires as coaches were allowed on the field of play with their star players as they gave advice on where the ball should be thrown if actually caught.

Anyway, it was quite an evening of action and entertainment here in T Ball country. Here at Duncan Field.
