The DSHS outstation office has been open for about six months in its news location at the Forks Transit Center at 551 S. Forks Avenue.

The state Department of Social and Health Services has announced a change to the staffing hours for its community services outstation in Forks.

Beginning this week, the outstation will be open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, according to a press release from the department.

The outstation, which is located at the Forks Transit Center, 551 S. Forks Ave., connects people with vital public benefits like food, cash and medical assistance as well as other resources.

The department believes that being open three consecutive days each week will provide more consistent access for residents on the West End.
