Summer herbalism workshop at Clallam Bay Library, May 27

Local herbalist and author Lauren Morgan will lead a free community workshop, “Get Ready for Summer Seasonal Herbalism,” on Tuesday, May 27, at 6 p.m. at the Clallam Bay Library, 16990 Highway 112.
In this 90-minute session, participants will learn how to make herbal remedies using plants foraged on the Olympic Peninsula. Morgan will share ways to make teas, tinctures, vinegars and salves from summer favorites. The session will cover identification and harvesting of hawthorn, wild rose, yarrow, self heal and St. John’s wort, while introducing basic wildcrafting tools, techniques and ethics.
Morgan is the author of “Seasonal Herbalism: A Beginner’s Guide to Medicine-Making and Dreaming with Mother Earth.” She teaches folk herbalism, gardens and practices wildcrafting.
