Greg Banner was awarded a plaque, clock and pin in recognition of his upcoming retirement. Banner has over three decades at the facilty and shared he loved coming to work every day. Speer thanked him for his many talents as Plant Manager and keeping things running smoothly. He also commented on his impact on staff as well as his mentoring of the incarcerated, teaching skill that have bettered their lives.
The Team Excellence award went to shift commanders - James O’Hara and Charles Friesz, not pictured Matthew Cartmill, Bryan Heistand, Holly Brux, and Bradly Carstensen.
In Agency Awards Tanya Pleines was recognized with the DOC Values Award. Other awards not pictured - Innovation Marc Thomas, and Inspirational Linza Cook.
The Green Hill Support Team Award went to Tim Hull, Tonya Pleines and Marc Thomas. Hull is pictured with Speer, Ginger Price and Jaime Kerschner. Pleines and Thomas not pictured.
In recognition of Scott Speer’s upcoming retirement, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Prisons, Eric Jackson, presented Speer with a plaque and many complimentary words.

Olympic Corrections Center Superintendent Scott Speer welcomed staff and guests to the annual OCC Awards and Lunch at the facility last Thursday. Speer called the ceremony a well deserved acknowledgment of the invaluable role each person plays to operate a safe and humane correctional facility. “The sacrifices you make, the risks you take, and the care you provide shape lives and strengthen our communities,” Speer said.
