Soroptimists Award Janet Marion Memorial Scholarship

Susie Brandelius, representing Soroptimist International of the Olympic Rainforest, recently presented a $9,000 scholarship check to Sarah Fletcher from the Janet Marion Memorial Scholarship Fund. The award will support Fletcher as she pursues her master’s degree and continues her work in programs such as Chronic Care Management and Palliative Care at Forks Community Hospital.

The scholarship honors the late Janet Marion, a beloved Forks resident from a pioneer family, a longtime Soroptimist member, and a dedicated RN at FCH. Established by a friend in her memory, the scholarship reflects the Soroptimist mission of empowering women, supporting single mothers, and strengthening the community.
