FMS October Students of the month

5th Grade:
Zion Hagans-Hamilton
Zion Hagans-Hamilton was selected as the October Student of the Month for 5th grade. His favorites include chicken, the color blue, math, and playing games. His favorite animal is a razorbill, a North Atlantic colonial seabird. When he grows up, he hopes to become an artist or a zookeeper.
Zion’s social studies teacher, Mrs. Camacho-Carver, said, “Zion did a fantastic job helping set up for art. He was responsible, respectful, and followed directions carefully. He always works well with his teammates during social studies, showing great collaboration and a positive attitude. Zion consistently gives a strong effort on his assignments and sets a great example for others through his kindness and dedication. Congratulations, Zion!”
His music teacher, Mrs. Murillo, added, “Zion is conscientious and has a great work ethic. The work he turns in is very neat and well done. He is good about helping others and follows expectations.”
PE teacher Mrs. Highfield shared, “Zion is kind to all his classmates. He is polite and friendly, and he strives to complete all activities with his best effort.”
Zion would like to thank his mom and dad for always supporting him. Congratulations, Zion!
6th Grade:
Nevaeh Konopaski-Lopez
Nevaeh Konopaski-Lopez was chosen as the October Student of the Month for 6th grade. Her favorites include tacos, the color pink, math and social studies, baking, and cooking. Her favorite animal is a boxer dog. She hopes to become a physical therapist or a chiropractor.
Nevaeh’s social studies teacher, Mrs. Echeita, said, “Nevaeh is a great role model for all other students. She participates in class discussion, follows directions, and consistently completes quality work. She is respectful to all and always willing to help others.”
Her math teacher, Miss Hunley, shared, “Nevaeh consistently demonstrates a strong work ethic and challenges herself to do her best. She’s not afraid to ask questions, helps classmates when they are struggling, and brings a positive, encouraging attitude to our classroom.”
ELA teacher Miss Klebe said, “Nevaeh has been shining bright this month! She’s kind, hardworking, and always ready to learn something new. She set a goal to earn Student of the Month—and she reached it with dedication and heart.”
PE teacher Mrs. Highfield added, “Nevaeh always puts in her best effort during PE. She follows all directions and is excited to demonstrate her skills.”
Band teacher Mrs. Rasmussen said, “Nevaeh is a great leader and does her best every day. When she doesn’t understand something, she asks questions and seeks clarity.”
Nevaeh would like to thank her parents for always supporting her and pushing her to do her best. Congratulations, Nevaeh!
7th Grade:
Alex Leask
Alex Leask was selected as the October Student of the Month for 7th grade. Her favorites include french fries, cookies, the colors blue and black, science, playing games, and reading. Her favorite animal is a munchkin cat. When she grows up, she hopes to work in a bakery.
Her math teacher, Dr. Whitehead, said, “Alex goes above and beyond in her schoolwork to think critically and challenge herself. She is willing to help classmates and is kind and generous to her peers.”
ELA teacher Mrs. Johanson added, “Alex is a shining example of respect for her peers. She is trustworthy and always doing what she is supposed to, even when others may not be. She completes her work with a smile and is quick to help her friends.”
PE teacher Mrs. Highfield shared, “Alex has a great work ethic and strives to be a successful student. She is courageous and takes ownership in her learning by asking ‘why’ and seeking deeper understanding.”
Band teacher Mrs. Rasmussen said, “Alex is such a spark to have in class. She tries her best every day, even when she isn’t feeling up to it. She is a quiet leader who is beginning to step forward in new ways. Alex has pushed herself academically and it shows.”
Alex would like to thank her dad, her brother Gabe, her grandma, and her friends for their support. Way to go, Alex!
8th Grade:
Abedain Pablo Mendoza
Abedain Pablo Mendoza was chosen as the October Student of the Month for 8th grade. His favorites include pizza, the color green, ELA, soccer, and tigers. He hasn’t decided on a future career yet but knows he has plenty of time ahead.
ELA teacher Mr. Burton said, “Abedain is a very respectful young man and a hardworking student. He always makes sure he is doing the right thing and completing his work to the best of his ability. He is friendly to everyone—staff and students alike.”
PE teacher Mrs. Highfield shared, “Abedain has a strong work ethic. He completes all the academic requirements, and he goes above and beyond with his kindness and polite attitude.”
His CTE teacher, Mr. Feasel, added, “Abedain is a positive, respectful student and a reliable role model. He consistently completes high-quality work and is incredibly self-motivated. He has a bright future ahead.”
Science teacher Mrs. Cook said, “Abedain is incredibly polite and respectful. His smile is contagious! He asks for help when needed and is a thoughtful, helpful group member. His work shows great effort and attention to quality.”
Math teacher Mrs. Rogers added, “Abedain is conscientious and hardworking. He always wants to learn and asks meaningful questions. He is also willing to help classmates and has a very positive attitude.”
