Remember the Logger Memorial

The Bureau of Labor Statistics rates logging as one of the most dangerous jobs in America.
The Forks Loggers Memorial has been a part of our community for thirty-four years. It stands tall as a tribute to fallen loggers and to those who have dedicated their lives to the timber industry. There are currently 895 names on the Honor Roll beneath the massive carved logger statue created by local artist Dennis Chastain. We are proud to honor them all – timber fallers, operators, rigging men, truck drivers, mill workers, mechanics, road builders, owners, timber cruisers, and camp cooks.
To be eligible for the Honor Roll, nominees must have worked on the Olympic Peninsula in the timber industry. The Forks Timber Museum foyer has nomination forms and the memory albums with the nominees’ information and photos to review. The Timber Museum has many exhibits of local history and is enjoyable for all ages.
The Forks Loggers Memorial continues to be supported entirely by volunteers and donations. Please visit the Loggers Memorial and Timber Museum soon.
