Community members, families, former students, and supporters gathered on Saturday to celebrate the grand reopening of Jumpstart Preschool & Family Wellness Center, marking an exciting new chapter for the early learning program and the expansion of family wellness services in the community.

Owner and educator Terra House expressed her gratitude during the celebration, thanking those who helped make the milestone possible, including community supporters, staff members, family, and local families who have been part of Jumpstart’s journey over the past five years.

“Today, I feel beyond blessed and incredibly honored to celebrate this Grand Reopening,” House said. “Your love, encouragement, and belief in this dream mean more than words can express.”

The newly expanded center combines preschool education with a broader focus on family wellness, offering services designed to support families from pregnancy through early childhood. House said the vision for the center is to provide comprehensive care and resources for families at every stage of their journey.

A major addition to the center is prenatal and postpartum support services. Dedicated midwives and student midwives will provide family-centered care that may include prenatal visits, newborn care, hearing screenings, lab work, bloodwork, imaging, educational resources, postpartum support, and assistance connecting families with additional healthcare services.

House emphasized the importance of accessible maternity care and noted that the center accepts Medicaid and many insurance plans, helping make services available to a wider range of families.

In addition to preschool programming and maternal health services, Jumpstart plans to host free community classes at least twice each month. Planned topics include pregnancy education, lactation support, newborn care, parenting resources, and health and wellness information.

“Our hope is to create more than a center,” House said. “We want this to be a safe, nurturing, welcoming space where families feel supported, connected, and cared for.”

House said she looks forward to walking alongside local families through every stage of life, from pregnancy and infancy through the preschool years and beyond.
