Activities and

Upcoming Work

Last week, Interwest Construction, Inc. (ICI) continued delivering material for Engineered Log Jam (ELJ) construction. ICI’s pile driving subcontractor, started pile driving operations for the foundation of the new bridge at Tower Creek (MP 7.8).

There are five 80-foot-long, 24-inch diameter, 0.75-inch thick steel pipe piles on each bridge abutment. Concrete will be placed to cap the top of these piles, and thus form the substructure that the precast girders of the new bridge will be placed on.

The subcontractor completed driving all of the piles on the west side of the bridge and will move their equipment and materials to the east side to begin driving the piles there next week.

• Travelers can expect Temporary Traffic Control Flaggers and/or signals between MP 7 and MP 8 of Upper Hoh Rd

• Expect delays up to a total of 30 minutes per passage through the project corridor Monday through Friday from 8 a.m.-5 a.m.

• Olympic National Park and businesses along Upper Hoh Road will remain accessible at all times during construction.
